Meta Quest Price Increase 2026: What It Means for Pakistan VR Buyers
By PakVR Editorial Team | Last updated: April 2026
Meta raised the price of the Quest 3 by $100 to $599.99 and both Quest 3S models by $50 each, effective April 19, 2026. The increase is driven by a global RAM chip shortage caused by AI server demand. Pakistan buyers should expect estimated PKR prices to rise by PKR 20,000 to 35,000 depending on the model. Meta confirmed a price increase across its Quest headset lineup starting April 19, 2026. For Pakistan buyers who import through grey market channels, these changes will push PKR costs significantly higher once current stock runs out. Here is what changed, why it happened, and what you should do about it. If you are still deciding which headset to get, our best VR headsets under $500 guide covers all the main options.
What Meta Changed
Meta raised prices on three headset configurations. The Quest 3, previously priced at $499.99, now costs $599.99. That is a $100 increase and the largest single price jump Meta has applied to any Quest model since the line launched.
The Quest 3S also got more expensive. The 128GB version moved from $299.99 to $349.99, and the 256GB version climbed from $399.99 to $449.99. Both are up $50.
Refurbished units sold through Meta’s official refurbished store are affected by the new pricing as well. VR accessories, including controllers, carrying cases, and link cables, remain at their existing prices for now.
Retailers who ordered stock before April 19 may still have units listed at the old price. Check Amazon and trusted resellers before that inventory clears. Once it does, the new pricing applies everywhere.
Why Prices Went Up
Meta cited a global RAM chip shortage as the direct cause. AI companies are purchasing high-bandwidth memory at scale for data center infrastructure, which has tightened supply and pushed memory costs higher across consumer electronics. VR headsets use the same type of memory, so manufacturers are passing on higher component costs.
This is not specific to Meta. Other consumer electronics companies have adjusted prices upward in 2026 for the same reason. Meta’s Quest line was priced the same for an unusually long time, making this adjustment overdue given rising input costs. Impact on Pakistan VR Buyers
All PKR prices below are estimates based on current USD/PKR exchange rates plus typical import duties and seller margins. Actual prices vary by seller. Always verify before purchasing.
Pakistan has no official Meta retail channel. Every Quest headset sold here arrives through importers, personal shopping services, or grey market dealers in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad electronics markets. The USD price increase carries over to PKR prices directly as soon as current imported stock is sold through.
Based on current exchange rates and standard import markups, here are estimated PKR prices for new stock after the increase:
| Headset | Old PKR (est.) | New PKR (est.) | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Quest 3 | PKR 175,000-190,000 | PKR 205,000-220,000 | ~PKR 30,000 |
| Meta Quest 3S 128GB | PKR 105,000-115,000 | PKR 125,000-135,000 | ~PKR 20,000 |
| Meta Quest 3S 256GB | PKR 130,000-140,000 | PKR 155,000-165,000 | ~PKR 25,000 |
Some sellers on Daraz may still have units imported at the old USD price. Listings at the old PKR price range may disappear within days as sellers update stock. Check Daraz.pk for current VR headset listings before inventory refreshes at the new cost.

Should You Buy Now or Wait for Quest 4
Quest 4 has not been announced by Meta. Based on the company’s typical release cycle, a new headset is not expected before late 2027. Waiting years for a potential price reset is not a practical strategy for most buyers.
If budget is the main concern, the Quest 3S 128GB remains the most accessible entry point at the new PKR 125,000-135,000 import estimate. It runs the full Meta Quest game library without a PC and delivers strong performance for the price. The Quest 3 is still the best all-round standalone headset available, even at the higher price. Buyers on tighter budgets can check OLX and local market dealers for second-hand Quest 2 or Quest 3 units. Pre-owned prices are not affected by this announcement.
What Pakistan VR Buyers Should Do Now
- Ready to buy today: Check Daraz and local dealers for remaining old-price stock. Move fast before it clears.
- Best budget pick: Quest 3S 128GB at an estimated PKR 125,000-135,000 imported. Still the best value entry point.
- Best overall: Quest 3 at an estimated PKR 205,000-220,000 imported. Still the strongest standalone VR headset available.
- Tight budget: Check OLX for used Quest 2 or Quest 3 units. Pre-owned prices are not affected by this change.
- Do not wait for Quest 4: No announcement expected before 2027. Holding off is not worth it for most buyers.
